Schoolyard Babenbergerring
Wiener Neustadt
2011
The Bundesgymnasium Babenbergerring schoolyard’s new layout solves the existing functional and practical problems, and at the same time creates a new open space shaped in contemporary design. The new placing of the rubbish dump and the canopied bicycle parking area creates a quite large attractive zone in front of the schools’s main wing, which can be used flexible. The design principle derives from lines connecting the courtyard’s corner and acordingly shaped green spaces as well as the bicycle area’s flying roof. This architectural upgrade is underlined by a new lighting concept.
